Vientos de la Havana
I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. My fellow photographer friend Jacques Metzger asked me to work with him again. He was working as Stills photographer on the film Vientos de la Havana. This again was being produced by Tornasol Films S.A. I had previously worked with them on Felices 140. The filming took place near Santa Cruz in Tenerife.
The days were intensive with the set being a hive of activity. BTS requires you to be there first and leave last. I prefer this to capture everything. It was a ‘quite set’, so no noisy shutter clicking. I didn’t have soundblimps for my Canons. Fortunately, I had Metabones Speedboosters so I could use my Canon lenses on my Panasonic GH5’s. They are mirrorless, so no annoying and distracting shutter clicks as scenes were being rehearsed and shot for actual takes.

There were crew members I recognised from Felices 140, so I felt quite at home. It is something to watch everyone working together as a finely tuned team. Everyone was concentrating on their work, so I was able to be a fly on the wall and capture the required Stills, Making of’s and Behind the scenes. I was so pleased with the images to come from this shoot.
