Redx exhibition

Redx was attending an exhibition being held in China. As a result, they needed various forms of advertising. These included, posters, illustrations, leaflets and large format display banners. However, they only had photos of their equipment and nothing else. The first thing I did was have a general discussion about the exhibition and what they wanted to achieve. As a result, it was clear what designs were needed in order to give a good service to their visitors.

The main item was an eight page brochure to basically advertise what they did. I generated all the imagery to go in to the brochure. However, we did have to order one image from a stock library. Redx provided a number of photos featuring their equipment but they all needed reprocessing. This meant using Photoshop to cut out the equipment. After that, create reflections and various backgrounds. A number of technical data tables were needed. Logos were designed which acted as bullet points emphasising the benefits of their systems. Complex circuit boards diagrams were designed using Adobe Illustrator. These were also output as large banners to display on the back walls of the stand.

Advertising

To further aid the advertising, specification sheets were needed. These were to hand out to visitors. Numerous items of equipment needed drawing such as loud speakers to DJ decks. Diagrams showed how the items were assembled for different types of broadcasting. All these were again drawn in Illustrator. I also constructed a temporary website using WordPress. It was only used for the during of the exhibition.

In conclusion

There were many items in this Redx promotion brief. However, good communication with the client made the process flow smoothly. The main thing I had to do was revert to their time zone. As a result, I was working during the UK night and sleeping during the day. This is sometimes necessary when dealing with clients on the other side of the world. They were very appreciative of this. Subsequently, it speeded up the design process.
